KnowledgeDigestPipeline
A nightly process that reads across technical feeds and research sources, distils what actually matters, and arrives as a single short brief each morning. The design goal was not coverage — it was that the brief actually gets read.
iThe problem
Aggregation alone produces a second inbox. A digest nobody reads has negative value, because it consumes attention and returns nothing.
Deduplication is the hard part: five sources covering the same announcement produce five entries that are one story.
Relevance is personal and changes week to week, so a fixed keyword filter goes stale immediately.
iiThe approach
Ingest across a curated set of feeds chosen for signal rather than volume, then cluster items that describe the same underlying event.
Summarise for the decision, not the announcement: what changed, and whether it should alter anything.
Hard length ceiling. If a story cannot justify its space, it does not get the space.
Delivered as email at a fixed morning hour, so reading it becomes a habit rather than a task.
iiiWhat it produces
A short daily brief that stays readable by design, rather than a backlog that grows without bound.
Duplicate coverage collapses into one entry, which is most of the value on a busy news day.
Feeds can be added or dropped without touching the pipeline logic.
